Al Birnstill Photography specializes in artistic photojournalism for your wedding day. Using an unassuming reportage style, your album will feature a relaxed, captivating story told through photos. All of the emotions, joy and subtle details of your day will be captured from original angles and an artist's creative point of view.

During your ceremony and reception, Al will be present without being obtrusive, assuring the bride and groom that every important moment is discreetly documented. For a photographer who keeps a low-profile while maneuvering through the crowd, Al still manages to take clever shots of small occurrences that most people - and professionals - would miss. At times, you'll be lightly guided into spontaneous moments as Al provides direction while letting you retain your individuality.

Al’s photography is primarily clean and urban, focusing heavily on black and white images. At other times, his style can be modernly rustic, with bold colors and an evident appreciation for charming, pastoral settings. Al enjoys all aspects of his craft, including composing, lighting and creating the most enhancing environment possible for his clients.

As an exceptionally well-rounded artist, Al's many ventures into the art world have culminated in a flourishing photography career. From 1992 to 2002, he fronted and wrote music for the all-original band Sunface. Al also plays acoustic guitar; works with pen-and-ink, pencil and graphite; and was commissioned to create abstract cover art and illustrations for the book Wending Your Way by Tom Cowan. During his 15 years as the Staff Photographer for a thriving conference and retreat center in the Hudson Valley, Al documented groups, renovations and notable happenings.

Al Birnstill Photography operates from a studio in Wappingers Falls, New York, and caters to a clientele that recognizes and values innovative, high-caliber photography. Aside from weddings, Al also shoots portraits, events and concerts throughout the Hudson Valley.
